Oh, come on now. What happened to these Confederates supposedly occupying
these batteries? What about the troops who subsequently drove them back? Your
theory must silence not only the embarrassed Union artilleryman (and those
blind commanders who overlooked the Confederate penetration north of the Angle)
but also those Union infantrymen who would have been proud of their role in
driving back the Rebel assault.
