It might be worth noting that the weght of the attack apparently shifted 
north from where Lee had originally intended on th emorning of July 3, given the 
replacement of Longstreet's two divisions (that had taken part in the Day Two 
assault) by Pettigrew's and Timble's units.  Under the original plan, Pickett 
would seem to have formed the left wing of the assault whereas in the attack as 
carried out Pickett was the right wing.  Therefore, instead of hitting the 
area previously penetrated by Wright, the PPT Assault as a whole struck to the 
north.  Where Cushing's and Arnold's batteries were.
