As long as you and I and Harry Pfanz agree on this, I guess we are making
progress. Pfanz concluded that "a good many advanced with the left of
Georgians' line." That doesn't mean somewhere to the left, but "with" the
left. Indeed, he points out that they were in verbal communication.

Curiously, one of those Mississippians claimed *"we threw ourselves upon the
batteries and passed them, still reeking hot."* I am assuming these would be
Arnold's and Cushing's, though it was not easy in the heat of the moment to
know the identity of the force against.which you were engaged.
