No indeed.  That averages out to 50 rounds per piece over the course of the 
day.  Not perhaps continuous, heavy firing, but a lot more then merely 
desultory.  It indicates an actively engaged battery, responding to threats 
and targets as they presente themselves during the day's action.  I would 
imagine a good deal of it related in some way to the fighting in and around 
the Bliss farm, including the artillery duels which it periodically gave 
rise to.
