GDG- Lincoln's "Irational" Expectation

I was just listening to Doris Goodwin on NPR radio (Fresh Air) and she reference this practice of
Lincoln. He often wrote notes/letters and then didn't send them. He would keep them and write "not sent" on them. I can identify with this. I find when I am angry about something - it really helps to write it down (I usually use the computer now a days). They I put it aside and read it later and often find that I am not as angry or if the situation still needs to be address, I can rewrite it in a more rational perspective and less antagonistic manner.
