Yes, before I published my "Gettysburg Magazine" article disputing the 
accuracy oif placing the 26th North Carolina at this point of the battlefield (and 
suggesting the 16th NC as the regiment most likely the target of Arnold's "last 
shot"), I tried to interest the Park Service in the question but, alas, never 
heard anything back.  More recently, in two of his books on Gettysburg Earl 
J. Hess has championed the accuracy of the 26 NC monument, but frankly I find 
his evidence unconvincing and the treatment of it dubious.  I continue firm in 
my belief that the 26 NC approached the Union-held stone wall further north, 
well away from in front of Arnold's remaining gun(s).
