I thought I would share with you, our friend, Becky Lyons' information:

"Rebecca Ann Lyons, age 60, of Gettysburg, PA entered into eternal rest on February 7, 2007 at the Gettysburg Hospital.

"She was born January 7, 1947 in Gettysburg, PA to the late Falda and James Lyons.

"She retired from the National Park Service in 2006 after 32 years of service.

"She held degrees in history from Adrian College in Michigan and Fort Hays University in Kansas.

"She served as an instructor for Harrisburg Area Community College and as a guest speaker/lecturer for numerous colleges, universities and Civil War Round Tables.

"There will be a grave side ceremony held at Evergreen Cemetery, Wednesday, February 14th at 2:00 p.m.

"Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital's Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105."

Just a thought.......

Wouldn't it be a nice gesture, if the new Guides' Room in the new Visitors' Center was named as a tribute to her?
