I do not find Belle Plain, Va. on current maps. It served as a Union cavalry base during the CW. In the OR Atlas, Plate VIII it is located about 8 or 9 miles ENE of Fredericksburg on Potomac Creek. Does anyone know whether it still exists, perhaps under a different name? There does not appear to be a town in that location on Virginia road maps. Tom Ryan
