Hi Andy -
I do not know of any specific order from Lee to Longstreet - there is
some circumstantial evidence that implies such a thing existed (as
noted, Ewell's actions, Alexander's recollections, Longstreet's flanking
activity, ...). On the other hand, Lee certainly did not bring charges
upon Longstreet for disobeying orders, there was some mild censure in
regards to things not being done as quickly as he'd have liked, but that
was all.
Cooperation, coordination, communication all seem to be lacking within
the ANV at Gettysburg...
