Thanks, Josh, for that information. Now I'll have a good excuse to watch "The Movie" again to look for those familiar sites! You can see the Bushman buildings when Hood is forming for the Day 2 assault, and also the Slyder buildings when Longstreet reports to Lee at the end of that day "for his orders". Maybe he shoulda done so. Some of the Seminary shots for the Day 1 action use that building, but others do not. If you count the windows on the side facing west, they aren't the same as Old Dorm.

Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:
While reading the posts about the Triangular Field I saw it mentioned
that this was the only place where "Gettysburg" was actually filmed on
the park grounds and that the camera batteries drained heavily. While
this may be true about the batteries, I can assure you that this is not
the only section of the park that was filmed on. Both Big and Little
Round Top were filmed on, Warfield Ridge, and Devil's Den were all used
in the filming, not to mention a lot of the ground where Pickett's
charge took place (for the first half of the charge in the movie). Also
I believe small sections near the Rose Farm were used, not to mention
about a half dozen smaller locations as well. If you have been to some
of these areas you will recognize them very easily when they appear in
the movie. Also I still have copies of the permits that Turner had to
file for use of these areas (that a friend who worked for the park made
for me at the time), and they also have a neat list of what effects the
crew was applying to use on these sites. All in all a good section of
the field for the 2nd and 3rd days' battles do pop up in the film.
