Hi All,
I lived in Gettysburg for many years and visited many times before that. I've experienced things that do not fit our concept of reality. Before I moved there, I pooh-poohed such things, but not any more.
I used to drive up and around Culp's Hill on a late summer evening to see the lightning bugs. I love to sit on Little Round Top to watch the sun slip over the mountains. Early, early mornings, I would go through a fast food drive up, get breakfast and roll out to the Pennsylvania Monument to watch the sun rise
If you are lucky enough to go on the field at just the right time, Father Corby appears to be balancing the moon on his upraised hand.
After a stressful day, a drive across the battlefield usually flushed out some form of wildlife, usually four-legged.
These are the things I miss every day. If Santa could give me anything, it would be a return to the 'Burg; a never-ending trip so I could do it all again.
Best to all, JoAnn
BTW - for those of you who track this sort of thing - with work and luck my book will be out next year.
