GDG- Triangular Field - Tim Ayers question

Andy,

I know the feeling. There are so many places on the battlefield that used to
be beautiful, to just sit and reflect. Now it seems you can't go to one of
them without having "Ghost Hunters" in the way. That's why I like to spend
most of my time out on the First Day's field. While you do find a few, there
are not that many to ruin the peace and quiet to just sit and reflect. Most
of them stay over in the area of Iverson's Pits.

I don't think the clearing will have an effect. I think it's mostly the
thought of cameras not working that drives folks to the Triangular Field.

BTW, In saying that I have ventured into that field to try my cameras, I do
not mean that I do it often. Maybe once a year, and never at night!

Anthony:

On a nice spring and summer evening, the Triangular field is one of my
favorite places, not for ghosts, but to sit at the bottom of the field and
watch the lightning bugs. It used to be so beautiful until the lightning
bugs got replaced with flash bulbs. However: I am not sure if the recent
tree clearing will have any impact on this or not, but it used to be so
beautiful to watch them from the bottom of the field, sitting on the rock.

Thanks
Andy

I too have gone into the triangular field specifically to see if my camera
would fail. Digital or 35mm I've only ever had one issue. A few years ago my
wife shot a photo that had what appeared to be a lightning bolt extending up
from the ground. We had the negative re-processed and the second photo was
clean. We determined that the bolt in the first photo was a problem in the
processing.

We've been out and about on the field at night many times over the years.
The amount of people that can be found in the Triangular Field at night
always amazed me.
