I am assuming they are the same regiment, but is it the 20th NC that has the "newer" monument almost in the middle of the Iron Brigade's line on the 1st day, and at the Wall in the center of the Union line on the 3rd day (and yes, of the 2nd day)? Other than Iverson's Brigade, who else had a large percentage of NC units? I know the 20th NC (I think anyway), but whose Brigade, Division were they with? ThanksAndy<<<

ANV Second Corp:
Early’s Division:
Hoke’s Brigade (Under Col. Isaac Avery) 6th, 21st, 57th

Johnson’s Division:
Steuart’s Brigade – 1st & 3rd

Rode’s Division
Iverson’s Brigade – 5th, 12th, 20th, 23rd
Daniels Brigade – 32nd, 43rd, 45th, 53rd & 2nd Battalion
Ramseur’s Brigade – 2nd, 4th, 14th, 30th

ANV Third Corp:
Heth’s Division:
Pettigrew’s Brigade – 11th, 26th, 47th,52nd
Davis’s Brigade – 55th

Pender’s Division:
Lane’s Brigade – 7th, 18th, 28th, 33rd, 37th
Scale’s Brigade – 13th, 16th,22nd, 34th, 38th

In addition there were Cavalry & Artillery units from NC on the battlefield as well.

The 26th NC was engaged with the Iron Brigade in the first wave of the Day One afternoon attack on Seminary Ridge. The monument position to the 26th at the Wall (Angle) was the subject of a great article in Gettysburg Magazine by GDG’s Bruce Trinque.
