First will always be any articles related to J.F. Reynolds, next would be
anything regarding July 1, or the First Corps. Intelligence is next, I love
to read about Sharpe and Babcock. After that pretty much anything on
Gettysburg the town and battle. Of course, this goes for all my reading, not
just Gettysburg Magazine.
How many others find themselves straying from their main subject after
reading an article that pertained to their subject?
Example: I read a book written by Mr. John Beck, the man that ran the Lititz
Academy for Boys. JFR was educated in the early years at this school. While
reading the item I learned that John Beck was schooled at Nazareth Hall Boys
School 7 miles from my house. I also learned that he was asked to teach at
the Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, again not too far from my
house.
I'll make this long story short. I've found myself yet again straying from
my main area of interest to spend more time on John Beck and his connection
to my local area.

I'm interested in how people prioritize the articles for reading. I also
look for anything dealing with intelligence, which is rare. Next best are
cavalry articles, since cavalry has an intel mission, and usually some
aspect can be found in these articles. I also read items by people I know
pretty well before the others. After that I prefer human interest -
especially controversy.
Next up would be anything related to the approach to and retreat from
Gettysburg which hold particular interest for me. With regard to the
straight battle-related pieces I usually Look for July 2 items, since that
IMO was the key day of the battle.
How do other folks go about this exercise?
I suppose articles concerning the PPT Charge get my first attention, given
my particular interests. July 2 especially in the Wheatfield and Peach
Orchard would probably be second. But something unusual and controversial
might
get a hold on me ahead of either if the circumstances were right.
