<< BIG difference! Reenactors practice their parts over many years,
striving for perfection of the way it really was back then. There also
are different levels of reenactors, the hard core bunch will sleep out
in a field to prepare. I highly recommend reading the book "Confederates
in the Attic" by Tony Horwitz for a very good description of reenacting.

Oh, I was just having some fun with it. Although to be honest, I do think
the use of reenactment footage, or even reenactors in general, in CW films
sometimes doesn't work quite as well as many people assume it would. Too
many overage, overweight guys all decked out in their most carefully studied
impressions. Nobody ever seems to look dirty, sweaty, unwashed, lousy, and
like they've been wearing the same clothes for the last six months and 500
miles.

"Confederates in the Attic" is a great book. If nothing else, it convinced
me that there are a lot of VERY understanding wives out there. ;-)
