GDG- Heber from Elverson

Steve:  Could it be Heber L Smith you are referring to?  He was a Captain in the 128th Pa.  Elverson is in Chester co, but is right on the border of Berks Co and the Joanna Furnace was there.  Heber was the owner of the Joanna Furnace.  However, Smith died in 1898, but his son Heber L. Smith was alive and well in 1906 and living in the Elverson area.  

Check out thsi book if you think this is the right guy, "The History of Joanna Furnace" by Suzanne Fellman Jacob.
