I am sure that anyone who wants discuss the calvary action can continue
to do so. But when we get into discussing personalities and other aspects
of individuals, we need to move back to the battle.

Seriously, I agree, there should be ample grist for the discussion mill in the analysis of the details of the conflicting interpretations, without having to comment on the authors. I've never been a cavalry specialist, and view such a discussion as useful both in terms of increased knowledge of the battle action, and, an exercise in historiography.
