On page 51 of Vol 20, No 3 issue of America's Civil War, David Palmer in an
article entitled 'King of the Hill', states: "Greene took matters into his own
hands and told Geary that he was reinforcing the skirmishers. Lt. Col. Hiram
Rodgers from Slocum's command arrived with an order from Slocum as Geary was
about to have Greene arrested for disobeying orders."
Does anyone know a source for this 'arrest order' from Geary. I'm seen Capt.
Charles Horton letter in the Bachelder Papers telling about Lt. Col. Rodgers
ride, but can find no 1st hand account of Geary's action to arrest Greene.
