Eric's  and your rebuttal of Custer's article was pretty thorough.  One thing that I didn't see addressed though (and I read both the B&G version and the online version, but perhaps missed it anyway) was her citation to Lt.Henry Potter's remark that the 18th Pa. Cav. monument, "at present, as put up, is not correct."  What do you make of that statement?  Great work, and fascinating to read the back and forth.
