Ed, 

Wayne Wachsmuth said it best several years ago...... THE GROUND drives the
battle......... To understand battle, you have to understand the ground. 

The removal of post 1863 tree growth has changed sight lines so much.. 

The other thing, we must be so very careful..  Personally I have fallen into
the following trap so easily myself. I think I  have found something that
counters what the verbal and written testimony of the veterans says.  And I
immediately jump on it because well its fascinating and it is a great thrill
to think I have made a discovery. Then I  cross reference it, and nope, the
real truth was there all along. The VETERANS had it right after all.
