GDG- Protecting monuments

The chief of maintenance for the park did tell us that they are looking into ways to protect the 74th PA.  He said that the problem with that particular monument is that it is on a road which is constantly used by natives as a "short cut" around town, it is on a curve in the road, and that the road is not "crowned" properly, so people are sometimes taken by surprise when they lose traction if they are speeding.  He said they are considering a low fence, or possibly the placement of boulders.
