LOL, Jim, you should be able to get it in time for the big day :-)

Brad has mapped the armies' movements to and from Gettysburg extremely well.
Stephenson's Depot is also mapped in detail. With this book, folks will,
for the first time, see the entire campaign mapped out nicely all within one
book.

The book won't replace works that discuss one particular action in detail
(for instance Imhof's and such) but for the mapping of the entire campaign
(and several dozen maps devoted to the three days of the battle), the book
will be a must-have.

BTW, I forgot that the index hasn't been added to my editing version yet, so
page count will actually be 384, and there are 144 maps total.

<< The way the book is set up is this: Each left-hand page has summary, yet
detailed text of a particular portion of the action, and the corresponding
map is on the right-hand page. Therefore, no flipping around to find the
map to match the text - it's all right there. All the campaign actions from
June 3 (advance to Gettysburg), the three days of battle, and then the
entire retreat is completely mapped out. >>

I'm looking forward to it. In particular, for the coverage of the march and
maneuvering phases of the campaign, which generally get only very general
cartographic attention in most works.

I hope the timing on publication holds up. It would be just in time for my
birthday, and my wife does always say I'm impossible to shop for!
