Thanks Tom, it will be a good start to this project. Certainly realizing
that exact times cannot be realized, I think a timeline overlay for this 3 hours
of fighting on July 2nd can still be beneficial. Ian Duncanson
Sure, I'll try to do that .. right now they are handwritten in a notebook,
probably 100 pages or so .. I just make note of item along with date and/or
approx time during my reading, have pages in my little looseleaf notebook
according to the pattern I mentioned before .. I also, of course note the
reference(s) of my information .. tom g

Tom, any chance of sharing your Gettysburg Campaign Timelines with the
group? Ian Duncanson
Timelines (while I recognize they must be taken with a grain of salt) help
give me a better handle on things, especially on the afternoons of July 1
and
2 .. I have set up for my own reference a sort of timeline for the campaign
which, on June 3, starts with "days" and as July draws near, evolves into
"hours" and sometimes even smaller units, then after July 3 gradually
expands to
longer intervals again .. I have added to my "timeline" some related items
long before and after the campaign and sometimes they are years apart .. to
me
maps and timelines, while tentative, are essential to understanding (also
tentative of course!) .. tom gilbert
