You will have a wonderful time with this. My students did NHD while I was
teaching for 20 years. It is the finest EDUCATIONAL experience the kids can
get outside the traditional classroom. It is what history is supposed to be
like in the classroom as well: debate, discovery, and inquiry.
I have had numerous students make it all the way to nationals. Stick around
for the awards ceremony. In Texas they were something special.
Here is Georgia, NHD is less developed but growing and I still help judge at
all levels.
Let us know what topics intrigue you? This is my favorite theme and the
kids always do some unique things with it.

Hi,
Next Wednesday is the History Day judging at Juniata College. I'm one of
the judges for the documentary division, and just received my list of
entries. One entry is titled, "Gettysburg: The Turning Point." The theme
this year is, "Triumph and Tragedy."
I am looking forward to see what these senior division (high school)
kids think about our favorite subject, and how it influenced history!
Linda
