I'd have to heartily agree with Phil's sentiments - I'm working my way
through the driving/walking tour right now, and I am just having a very
enjoyable/educational time going through this book. In particular, I
think chapter 20 "After Thoughts" is one of the best reads I've had in
quite some time - very well written! I also agree with your points about
the 111th NY and Hancock - the author's arguments when discussing the
111th NY and 1st Minn seem very well reasoned.

For me personally, it seems that a lot of books spend a significant
portion of time on the parts of the battle leading up to the collapse of
the 3rd Corp (and other elements), and then more briefly discuss the
concluding parts - I think this book expands very well on that critical
portion of time.

Regards,
Alan
