GDG- BMI

Say what you want about Joe Hooker, he made a good decision here in
establishing the BMI and the re-establishing of morale back into the AOP.
Even though Chancellorsville was not a victory for the North, Hooker had
taken the army after the Fredericksburg disaster and shaped it up back into
a fighting force. Even though I don't think of Hooker as much of a
Commander, the victory at Gettysburg was due in part to his reshaping the
AOP after Fredericksburg. It's interesting that after Chancellorsville, the
AOP marched proudly and optimistically into Pa. Am I off base on these
comments?
