GDG- Habeus Corpus question

Basically it means produce the body, I'm sure someone will provide a better  
latin interpretation, but thats the rough meaning.  Bervinus was probably  
underage, nearly every time I've seen this notation it was because the soldier's  
parents showed up and wanted their young son back home.

"...discharged for by writ of Habeas  Corpus..."

What does this mean?
