I note on that webpage that milk sickness, among other names, was referred
to as "the slows."
All of which puts a different light (and perhaps a double meaning) on one of
Lincoln's references to McClellan...

Nancy Hanks Lincoln dies of milk sickness and is buried near Thomas and
Elizabeth Hanks Sparrow.
Date of Nancy's birth is not known, but she is thought to have been about
25 or 26 years of age when she married Thomas Lincoln in 1806.
