Keith--
If you don' t have it, you might be better off spending a little more on
Manarin and Dowdey's *Wartime Papers of Robert E. Lee*. The latest
paperback has the nice full-length photo of Lee on it. The collection,
while not comprehensive, is invaluable. My copy is heavily marked with
stickies. I find it an invaluable resource - along with the OR, I think
it is one of the most valuable published set of primary source material
you can have on Lee's Eastern campaigns.
Also, as you probably know, Gallagher's *Lee the Soldier* reprints some
of the interesting but brief (we are talking notes here) memorandums
people wrote up of post-war discussions with Lee about Gettysburg and
other battles. A lot of libraries have this book and you can go and
photocopy the primary source materials up front if you want (although U.
Nebraska Press had it pretty nicely priced a few years ago, when I
bought my copy).

Not if you believe that if it didn't happen at Gettysburg, it didn't
happen or it wasn't important. Otherwise, yes.
