<< If not John Brown, then as a future president in "Abe Lincoln in
Illinois," although I personally always preferred the jackleg lawyer version
of Lincoln done by Henry Fonda in John Ford's wonderful little masterpiece
of "Young Mr. Lincoln."

There's a story from the original Broadway stage production of "Abe Lincoln In Illinois", which he also starred in and upon which the movie was based. During the final scene, where the train is leaving the station and all the townsfolk are waving and shouting out "Goodby, Abe" and "Goodby Mr. Lincoln", one of the extras calls out, "Goodby, Mr. Massy!"
