GDG- Movies

I think "Glory" is an excellent film.  I have seen it several times and even 
though I know the ending, I still find it difficult to watch because to me, 
it drives home why the war was fought and the price that was paid.  It's 
painful to watch but also necessary.
I have been thinking about what would make a good film this afternoon.  I 
think THE MOVIE was a good movie as a "gateway" to getting hooked.  <G>  I 
liked the longer version and of course, it's a marathon for some to sit 
though.  What I think was missing now, is what happened in town and the 
civilian experience.  And of course, the aftermath.  There's about ten films 
right there.
Anyone got a few spare billion and a good director, etc, to spare?  The GDG 
could write it naturally.
