The Kinzua bridge went down on July 21, 2003 at 3:20 pm.  I have a t-shirt from a fund raiser they were having at one point to restore - but I don't know what happened with that.  It was very sad.  I had been there in 2002 and in fact I was on the bridge 2 weeks before they shut it down to pedestrian traffic due to safety issues.  Train traffic had stopped previously to that.

Yes his house was auction off and I understand that the people who purchased it were going to restore it - I think it was or it was going to be a B and B.  Unfortunately, the previous owners auctioned off some items belonging to Kane that were in the house.
