Hi Keith -

That is my understanding as well - I thought suggesting all 3 volumes of 
that (in my opinion) masterpiece to a 15 year old was a bit much.

(Although, *I* found it quite readable, and my wife doesn't think I am 
much more mature than my almost-16 year old son...)

PS. Besides the relatively even-handed approach to describing the war - 
both in terms of North/South *and* East/West - I think Foote's tale of 
the rise and fall of Jeff Davis is unbelievably moving.
