Two more stocking stuffers written by members of the GDG are Tom Eishen's
"Courage on Little Round Top" a fine novel about the confrontation between
Joshua Chamberlain of the 20th Maine and Lt. Robert Wicker of the 15th
Alabama. I enjoyed this book, and recommend it as a great gift item
especially for those who may not be experts on the battle. It is a stand
alone item. Amazon has it for $12.37 new or under $10 used.
The other is Scott Mingus' "Human Interest Stories of the Gettysburg
Campaign." I just started reading this one, which is a relatively short
paperback that will fit into gift giving plans nicely. These are stories
that Scott collected while researching his forthcoming book about John
Gordon's attack on Wrightsville, PA and the burning of the bridge there.
They are mostly short behind-the-scenes anecdotes of things that took place
in and around Gettysburg. It sells for $9.95 new or under $8 used on
Amazon.

Besides these two fine recommendations, I very much enjoyed Eric's book:
Protecting the Flanks: The Battles for Brinkerhoff's Ridge and East
Cavalry Field, Battle of Gettysburg, July 2-3, 1863
like the two Tom mentions, this one also has a tour guide. [And, in some
ways, it connects quite well with the ending of Plenty of Blame to Go
Around.]
