I have about 100 Gettysburg books, not counting Gettysburg Magazine. These are the ones I consider the best. The ones I label "outstanding" are what I consider "must have".

  Outstanding

Devil’s Den - A History and Guide, Adelman
  Retreat From Gettysburg, Brown
Strange & Blighted Land - Gettysburg, the Aftermath,, ACoco
  Gettysburg Campaign, The, Coddington
Gettysburg - the Story Behind the Scenery, Davis
Gettysburg - A Journey in Time, Frassanito
Gettysburg - Stories of Men & Monuments, Hawthorne
Gettysburg Day 2 - A Study in Maps, Imhof
  Gettysburg, July 1, Martin
Gettysburg - Culp’s Hill and Cemetery Hill, Pfanz
  Gettysburg, The Second Day, Pfanz
  Gettysburg, Sears
  Killer Angels, The, Shaara
  Pickett's Charge, Stewart

  Excellent

  Culp's Hill at Gettysburg, Archer
Hour Was One of Horror - East Cemetery Hill at Gettysburg, The, Archer
  Meade of Gettysburg, Cleaves
Civil War Artillery at Gettysburg, Cole
  Stars in Their Courses, Foote
Pickett’s Charge - The Last Attack At Gettysburg, Hess
  Gettysburg Magazine, Morningside
Official Records, War of the Rebellion, Series 1, Vol. 27, Natl Historical Soc.
  This Is Holy Ground, Platt
Into the Fight - Pickett’s Charge, Priest
Pickett’s Charge in History & Memory, Reardon
  Pickett’s Charge, Eyewitness Accounts, Rolling
Gettysburg - The Meade-Sickles Controversy, Sauers

"Brigades of Gettysburg" is pretty good as a reference book, but it does not really help you understand the battle very well, because of the way it is organized.
