GDG- 82nd New York

It appears no regimental history has been written about the 82nd NY. I'm
trying to learn more about their actions on day 3 during "The Charge." Can
someone advise me about how far south they were from the copse of trees and
if they are considered to have played a major part in repulsing Pickett's
Charge. (Sorry, after decades of calling it Pickett's Charge I just can't
call it the PPT Assualt <g>.) Also can you recommend a book that might go
into detail about their actions on July 3rd.

I already have the info inscribed on their monument and the OR report of
Captain Darrow.
