For too long I had neglected understanding the Second Day (even though I read 
and enjoyed Pfanz's book when it was first published and I had visited LRT 
innumerable times), but finally on a visit to the Burg this past spring, I made 
the effort to probe the Whetfield, the Peach Orchard, and Devil's Den with 
some care.  But even so, with the experience of having been on the actual ground 
under my belt, I had to track down John Imhof's book and view the "Gettysburg 
Animated" CD several times before I was able to nail down the chronological 
relationships among the various components of the Second Day..  .
