John,

It is possible that Harry Gillmor (no "e", BTW) was wounded on May 12, 1864,
but he was riding in early June. When Early returned to the Valley in June
1864, he sent Gillmor and his unit (six companies of partisan rangers at the
time, then consolidated with the 1st and 2nd MD Cavalry with Gillmor as CO)
to harass Hunter's Union rear guard retreating from the Valley. I see no
mention of his wounding at this time; however, Gillmor received four wounds
during the war so you could be right, although this was apparently a minor
wound, Gillmor did receive a serious wound in the neck at Bunker Hill VA on
13 August 1864, which kept him inactive until October 1864.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jack Kelly
