Williamsport Days - August 26-27 in Williamsport,
Maryland is a good opportunity to see where
elements of Lee's Army of Northern Virginia built
and held defensive positions after July 3 and
before July 14, 1863. Williamsport Days takes
place throughout the town including the C&O Canal
Cushwa basin (NPS). This is also near where the
ANV wagons and ambulances were parked and the
site of the Williamsport fording of the Potomac
River (July 13-14). The site of the pontoon
crossing at Falling Waters is several miles
downriver (also NPS property).
