GDG- Civil War roundtable

Mark,

There is no national organization that I am aware of. There is a website
maintained by Gordon Kwok of the Old Colony CWRT in Massachusetts that lists
over 200 R/T websites in this country and around the world:
http://members.aol.com/gordonkwok/cwrtlist_1.html.

Also, there is a group of Round Tables that advertise in every issue of
North and South Magazine (looking for new members I suppose), and the
newspaper Civil War News has a regular column by Matthew Borowick called
"Round Table Review" in which he talks about how different R/T's operate,
and gives advice about how they can be managed successfully.

The R/T that I belong to is called the Central Delaware, and we have a
small, dedicated group of people who keep it going. We have over 100
members, and attendance at our meetings ranges lately from 50-60. Who the
speaker is has a lot to do with that. We are alive and well, and I am not
sure what benefit a national organization could provide, other than a
clearing house for speakers, and perhaps some tips on maintaining the health
of the organization.

Regards,

Tom Ryan

Esteemed GDG Member Contributes:

I first stumbled upon this group when I was doing a Google search and
trying to find out about the Civil War roundtable. Is there any national
organization of these roundtables, or are they all independent entities?
If there is a national organization, can someone give me contact info?
